Milana Aleksandrovna Vayntrub is an American comedian, actor, and activist. Born in the Soviet Union to Jewish parents Her career began as a child actress soon after her move to the United States. From 2013 until 2016 she was the AT&T saleswoman Lily Adams, and since 2020, she has been the AT&T saleswoman Lily Adams. She gained fame for her role in television commercials. The commercials she appeared in were not her only activity she did. She also appeared on the Yahoo! Screen science fiction comedy Other Space (2015). Additionally, she was an actor on the NBC drama This Is Us (2016–2017). Vayntrub was originally cast as the character Squirrel Girls in Marvel Rising's pilot that was never aired for New Warriors in 2018, was voiced in that role since. Vayntrub was born in Tashkent, Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic, USSR, and is Jewish. At the age of two her parents and she moved to the U.S. as refugees to escape antisemitism, settling in West Hollywood. Her family's financial difficulties resulted in her appearing in Mattel Barbie commercials from the age of five. Vayntrub briefly studied at Beverly Hills High School. Following her sophomore year, she dropped out and got a GED. She continued to get a Bachelor of Arts Communication from University of California San Diego. Through the Upright Citizens Brigade she studied improv comedy.
